In this Jubilee Year the Province is blessed with four new Priests

Kunnappallil Biju George, Manivelil Aneesh and Mekkulathil Ramlat

have been ordained Deacons on 22 December 2010 in Sanathana MCBS Seminary, Thamarassery.

Christmas season 2010 brought abundant grace and joy to Kerala Province in the form of four new priests and 3 new deacons. A wonderful Jubilee gift indeed! The first among the quartet to be ordained was Deacon Ranjit George. He was ordained by Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil, Bishop of Thamarassery, on Sunday 26 December at St John the Baptist Church, Manjuvayal. Deacons Dolichan and Shibu received the Sacred Orders at the hands of the same Prelate, Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil on 28 December at Christ the King Parish, Malaparamba. And Deacon Antu was anointed to minister the Lord’s flock by Mar Sebastian Adayanthrath, Auxiliary Bishop of Ernakulam- Ankamaly on Thursday 30 December at St Joseph’s Church, Mambra, Karukutty. Fr Provincial served as Archdeacon in all these sacred functions. While Ranjit, Shibu and Antu offered their First Masses immediately after their ordinations, Dolichan offered his First Mass on Wednesday 29 December in his home parish at Perumpunna, Peravoor. All these events were well-arranged, blending beautifully the spiritual and the temporal aspects. Besides the jubilant family members of the Ordinandi, many others too—friends, relations, neighbours, well-wishers, sisters and priests – actively took part in all these functions. Several of ours, too, took the pleasant trouble of witnessing to these grace-filled moments. As Christ the King Church, Malaparamba was the venue of the ordination of Dolichan and Shibu, Christ Hall, naturally, took the responsibility of organizing the function. And the entire Community accepted it as a labour of love. Thanks to the untiring efforts of Frs V.T. Jose and Wilson Mulackal and the active support of the Curia team, Christ Hall did an excellent job in organizing such an event. The liturgy in Syro Malabar Rite was just magnificent. Fr Salvin did a great job as the M.C. and meticulously arranged everything needed and the whole ordination ceremony was conducted without any hitch whatsoever. Other aspects like accommodation, meals and refreshments too were attended with meticulous care. Our new Deacons, the sisters of the neighbouring convents and a host of generous souls were as usual behind the scene.

Though less important and hence less colourful, there was another function of conferring the Diaconate. Schs Aneesh, Biju George, and Ramlat were ordained Deacons by Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil on 22 December at Sanathana MCBS Major Seminary, Thamarassery. Frs E.P. Mathew and Henry Pattarumadathil represented the Province at this function. The Province offers hearty congratulations and warm wishes to the new priests and deacons.
